WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

 

In 2010, Chef Manny and Pepe launched Tamale Spaceship with a vision that challenged what a food truck could be.​

 

At a time when Chicago's food truck industry was still in its infancy and licensing hadn't yet caught up with the concept, Manny + Pepe believed street food deserved the same creativity and care as any restaurant.​

 

Instead of a traditional food truck menu, they focused on chef-driven dishes, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtfully crafted tamales that elevated the experience.

GROWING BEYOND THE TRUCK

Within the first year, Tamale Spaceship catered its very first wedding. That single event opened the door to something bigger.

Each celebration inspired new menus, new services, and new ways to bring people together. What started as a food truck naturally evolved into full-service catering for weddings, corporate events, private parties, convenient drop-off catering, and pickup orders.
